After a complete renovation of their 20,000-square-foot, prestigious Santa Monica Place location, Nike unveiled a completely re-imaged, modern space perfected by The Garrison Collection flooring!
The bright, clean retail space features a Garrison special order chevron patterned maple with a smooth surface and lustrous urethane finish. This striking motif, installed by Jay Ghantous of Pacific Hardwood Flooring, continues beyond the floor space extending up the walls behind their displays.
Nike’s celebrated motto – “Just do it.” – hangs above the central staircase staircase. Our floors provide a understated yet striking backdrop for this focal point and compliment the reclaimed gym floors used on the ceiling beautifully.
Each plank of this exquisite floor was custom finished, cut, and installed by Ghantous and the team at Pacific Hardwood Flooring. It is easy to see why they were chosen for this incredible project. Having been in the flooring business for over 25 years, they have earned a series of distinctions from collaborating with globally renown designer Kelly Wearstler, to having their floors featured in popular magazines such as Metropolitan and La Magazine. When asked why he chose The Garrison Collection for this project Ghantous said,

The specific product utilized in this space is our Contractor’s Choice Unfinished Maple flooring. This popular line features an exceptionally thick 5mm wear layer and can be custom ordered in a variety of sizes and grades. This makes it ideal for situations calling for custom color matching and/or installation directly over a concrete slab. It is also a natural choice for parquet flooring patterns such as herringbone or chevron, featured here.
According to Nike’s press release, “Overall, the store design reflects a lighter and stronger aesthetic that maximizes the natural light in the space, ideal for the Southern California environment.”
