Ipe – also known as Brazilian Walnut – is the number one choice for decking/deck flooring. Renowned for its unparalleled durability, Ipe’s natural oils and dense fibers fortify it against decay, mold, fungi, and insects, eliminating the need for insect-proofing. With an ‘A1′ fire resistance rating—on par with concrete and steel— Ipe ensures safety and longevity in outdoor spaces. Our meticulous kiln-drying processes guarantee quality and consistency, with a beautiful Select Grade look.
We offer Ipe decking at 1″ thick and 6″ wide, providing a sturdy foundation and the perfect look for any outdoor space. Material is available in both regular/random lengths from 8′ to 18′, as well as long-length material, from 20′ to 22’, catering to your different project needs. All boards are “S4S,” meaning they are sanded on 4 sides, ensuring a smooth and uniform finish.
While Ipe may resist traditional finishes, regular oil maintenance is recommended to uphold its hydration and original allure. Moreover, to fortify against cracks, checks, and splits, the material arrives with end grain meticulously painted with a wax sealer, providing additional protection. Should the need arise, installers can easily cut or sand the boards to suit specific installation requirements.
